SolRoutes & OVQ Organize Panel on “Arts of Solidarity” at ESCAPES2025
The SolRoutes project is proud to announce its organization of Panel 12: “Arts of Solidarity” at the upcoming ESCAPES2025 conference, scheduled to take place in Milan on September 11–12, 2025. This panel invites contributions that combine participatory ethnography with art-based methods to reframe how solidarity toward migrants is understood and enacted.
Panel 12 challenges traditional notions of humanitarian aid by showcasing solidarity as an interactive, collective action. The call for presentations welcomes creative expressions such as graphic novels, short documentary films, music and soundscapes, theatre pieces, and public-art interventions. The aim is to illustrate how artistic practices can both document and energize acts of support, even in the face of restrictive EU border regimes and the criminalization of such initiatives.
