We’re pleased to share a compelling new open-access article by Luca Queirolo Palmas and Federico Rahola, published in Societies (Vol. 15, Issue 7). Titled On Est Ensemble: Stories of a Shipwreck, a Missing Pirogue, and Potential Migrants in Senegal, the piece offers a deeply human ethnographic narrative of a tragic maritime event near Mbour, Senegal.
Through survivor testimonies and community perspectives, the authors explore the complex dynamics of unauthorized migration, border violence, and grassroots solidarity. This article contributes to the ongoing discourse on the autonomy of migration and the lived realities of those navigating perilous routes toward Europe.
