GNW Mayotte

From May 15 to 27, the Solroutes project’s Generative Narrative Workshop (GNW), titled “Filming Daily Life in Mayotte,” was held in Mayotte.

Seven university students from diverse backgrounds and fields of study participated in research and film ethnography activities, writing and performing two screenplays on the themes of travel and its complications: the first depicts two undocumented university students grappling with the end of their studies and institutional discrimination; the second portrays France through a love story, the weight of family ties, loneliness, and metropolitan rejection. The 50-hour workshop was led by the following colleagues from the University of Genoa and Mayotte: Rassa Ghaffari, Federico Rahola, Luca Queirolo Palmas, Luisa Stagi, and Georgeta Stoica, with the participation of Luna Selimovic (University of Nice). The film workshop was directed by Jose Gonzalez Morandi.
