STATION 4 – ERC SOLROUTES GENOA MEETING

The forth in-person meeting of the ERC SOLROUTES project took place at DISFOR, University of Genova, from May 26 to May 30, 2025. This week-long gathering brought together researchers, PhD candidates, and project collaborators to share fieldwork experiences, present ongoing research, and advance collective work on key concepts within the project.

Genoa, Italy

The week kicked off on Monday afternoon with a welcome session, followed by engaging fieldwork presentations.

Day 2 was dedicated to PhD fieldwork presentations, showcasing the students’ latest research nodes. These sessions provided valuable opportunities for feedback and peer learning.

Midweek, attention turned to the project’s conceptual development. Wednesday and Thursday featured group presentations on the evolving “Keywords” central to Solroutes’ research framework. Topics included “Naming and Grounding,” “Infrastructuring and Resourcing,” and “Gendering.” The sessions culminated in a collaborative discussion on refining texts and planning future publications.

On Friday, the focus shifted again to doctoral research. PhD candidates presented the structure of their theses, followed by feedback and concluding remarks from the Solroutes Advisory Board, David Brotherton.

The week concluded with a management session to address the organisational and strategic aspects of the project.

This in-person meeting marked a significant step in strengthening the collaborative spirit of Solroutes and advancing its research goals. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming publications and project developments.
