Interdisciplinary perspectives on international migration
Contemporary international migration is shaped by an ever-growing number of factors, from the impact of climate change to the increasing differentiation of labour flows, from the globalization of migration governance to the intensification of transnational diasporic networks. Not only have such dimensions created new migratory patterns and experiences, but they have also given rise to a greater diversity of migrants in terms of age, gender, social class, provenance, etc.

SolRoutes’s researchers were accepted to participate at INTERPIM – ‘Interdisciplinary perspectives on international migration’, organized by Cà Foscari University of Venice, 28-29/11/2023, in the panel
‘Migration and expectations: seeing the future from the South’ chaired by professor Francesco Vacchiano.
Luca Queirolo Palmas, Ivan Bonninn and Enrico Fravega presented their paper titled ‘Mobilities and Imaginaries across the Sicilian Strait. A gaze through fishermen’;
Rassa Ghaffari discussed her research Iranians’ unauthorized mobility project to Europe: a digital ethnography of expectations and imaginaries’.
